Gary's sons Jamie & Joshua rode three of the winners, each!

2015 Review

2015 was again an extremely successful year for the customers of Eurobale within the horse racing sphere.  Here are just a few of the racing highlights.

John Gosden was again Champion Trainer and had nine Group one successes. Golden Horn included a magnificent Epsom Derby, the Eclipse and the Prix De l’Arc de Triomphe among his five group one successes. Star of Seville, Jack Hobbs and
Shalaa were were his other Group one scorers.

Sir Michael Stoute won the Canadian International Stakes for the second year running when Cannock Chase followed up the previous years win by Hillstar at Woodbine.

Tony Carroll and Millhouse Racing had their best ever total of flat winners in 2015.

Tom Dascombe and Manor House Stables introduced a very promising two year old when Kachy won his debut race at Chester. He then went on to win the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood.

In his first season training Simon Crisford had a lot of success training 22 winners including the Group 3 Solario Stakes winner First Selection.

Eurobale is very pleased to welcome Michael Appleby as a customer. The stable has continued its fine progression and is on target for a record number of flat winners this year.

Another new customer we are pleased to welcome is the Somerville Lodge stables of William Haggas who once again had over 100 winners this year. These successes included nine Group winners.

The Shadwell Stud bred Muhaarar produced some stunning displays of sprinting during the year including four consecutive Group one wins and was voted the Champion Sprinter in Europe.

David Elsworth’s Arabian Queen won three Group races during the year the pinnacle of which was her win in the  Group 1 Juddmonte at York in August when she got the better of a protracted battle with Golden Horn.

Our thoughts were with Gary Moore after his accident in October. We hope he continues his recovery and is soon back to full health. Once again in 2015 his stable turned out in excess of 80 winners on the flat and over jumps including the Betfair Hurdle with Violet Dancer.

Andrew Nicholson

Andrew kicked off his season in his usual form with a win (JetSet) and two seconds (MHS KINGJOULES) and (CALICO JOE) in the Advanced Sections at Belton. Two wins in the Advanced at Chatsworth followed on JETSET IV and Perfect Stranger. This excellent form continued when a superb first two days at Badminton saw Andrew going into the Showjumping in the lead on Nereo where he was beaten into sixth place.
